We create and provide all types of digital products and services for cultural institutions. We custom-design them specifically for your needs. We base all of our modular technology on the robust and secure Gretel framework. This allows us to design and develop your products quickly and cost-effectively. No two products look alike. No more cookie cutter solutions.
Progressive web apps, as opposed to native apps, don't need to be downloaded from an app store, making it easier to access specific digital content without logging in and downloading large files. Best of all, in combination with QR codes, progressive web apps simplify the onboarding process.
Our platform supports also native apps for both iPhone and Android. With native apps we can take advantage of many features that are supported exclusively in native apps such as location awareness, Augmented Reality (AR), image recognition, accessibility, push notification, and other third-party services.
We also design and develop apps for specific tablets, like iPads and other devices. Native apps work best for rental units since visitors cannot access any other content outside of the app on those devices.
The Gretel platform powers also websites. This means that you can now use one content management system (CMS) to handle all of your content across all devices and platforms. Create, manage and publish all content with just one CMS. Less time spent learning different systems and streamlining the entire production process.
If you already have an existing website that you'd like to keep, we can easily integrate it and other third-party services, allowing you to manage and publish content more effectively.
We design and develop also educational apps specifically for cultural institutions. Would like to provide material to teachers and students before, during and after their visit? We can help you create a product that fits your needs.
Below are some features and modules that we have designed and developed specifically for cultural institutions.
As a cultural institue your team has full control and access to your own intuitive content management system (CMS). All dynamic content such as copy, images, audio, and video can easily be modified on the fly. Would like to create a new audio tour in different languages with captions? Easy. Content is published when you need it and available to your visitors on the fly.
All content is stored and maintained in a secure cloud environment and backed up by a robust infrastructure. Gretel’s CMS allows you to publish easily content and enable features for different user experiences before, during, and after the visit.
The user interface can be fully customized to follow closely your style guide, including the overall look and feel as well as the selection of colors, typography, and design elements.
Users can easily switch between languages at any time via the main menu. All languages are supported by the Gretel platform, including Chinese and Japanese. Localized content is handled via the CMS.
Your team can easily push alerts or send push notifications to visitors to inform them about, exhibition openings, closures, or membership benefits with a push of the button.
Gretel is extremely smart and modular, and handles all content dynamically. Other services and products such as ticketing and reservations, can be fully integrated to provide a deeper user experience.
At the heart of many mobile apps is the self-guided audio tour which allows visitors to experience an audio tour in their native language at their own pace. Users can enjoy the audio tours in a linear or non-linear manner. If users prefer a linear experience, they can use the audio controls to move from one piece to the next. They can also select the auto-play option if they prefer. For a more non-linear audio tour experience, users can use the dial pad or the Near Me feature with location-aware technologies such as beacons are installed throughout the building.
All content for audio tours is handled via the CMS and can be changed at any time. This includes localized content for different languages.
We can help you integrate your ticketing and events system to deliver a seamless user experience that increases your conversion rates.
Gretel also offers integrated Augmented Reality (AR) and image recognition. With AR, visitors are able to discover and experience new layers that are superimposed onto other objects while pointing the device on distinct items in the exhibit.
Image recognition is used to identify objects and help visitors find more content without the need to typ numbers or selecting items in a menu. Simply hold up the device and point the camera to an object to discover more specific content. It's that easy.
The new search engine allows users to find quickly any item on the app with autocomplete search suggestions. Filters keep search results neatly organized.
All of our products support extensive accessibility features on the operating system level. The apps respond to the user’s accessibility preferences, including features for visitors with vision loss, hearing loss, and other disabilities.
The Gretel platform supports both app strategies — rental and BYOD (Bring your own device). All content is handled via the same CMS.
Users can favorite exhibit items, artists, as well as exhibitions and events with the app and share them via their favorite social media networks of choice such as Facebook and Instagram.
The app includes interactive, floor plans to help visitors pinpoint their location or find specific art pieces, exhibits, and events. Location-awareness can help optimize the user experience.
We provide your team with powerful, insightful analytics that can be integrated with your CRM of choice to target specific demographics with customized messages and promotional offers.
The Programs module allows users to view highlighted events. All content is dynamic and can included to show only events that still have seats available on specific dates. Highlighted events are personalized to the user’s preferences. Should users be more interested in some types of events, then the app features more relevant information that will promote the visit of these type of events.
Reward your visitors for return visits with custom- designed badges. Encourage them to bring their family, purchase tickets with the app, or visit special exhibitions and programs. Users can even unlock special badges by time spent during their visit. It’s entirely up to you to decide if you’d like to incentivize and reward users for the collection of badges. Maybe it’s a store discount, early access to a special exhibition, or a little give-away.
